Vilka är de vanligaste symtomen på refluxsjukdom?

Halsbränna och sura uppstötningar är de karakteristiska symtomen på refluxsjukdom.

Halsbränna kan definieras som en brännande känsla retrosternalt (bakom bröstbenet) [1] eller som en brännande känsla som stiger från magen eller nedre delen av bröstet upp mot halsen [3].

I vissa fall kan magsyra flöda tillbaka till munnen och ge en obehaglig sur smak. Andra, mindre vanliga, symtom är bröstsmärta, dysfagi eller extraesofageala symtom som kronisk hosta, astma eller heshet [5].
