Är några andra risker associerade med H. pylori-infektion?
Infektion med H. pylori förefaller vara associerad med ökad risk för magcancer och lymfom i mukosaassocierad lymfatisk vävnad (MALT-lymfom) [3,4].
Detta samband tros vara kausalt och en metaanalys av kohort- eller fallkontrollstudier drog slutstsen att infektion med bakterien är en riskfaktor för magcancer [5]. Sådan evidens ger stöd åt uppfattningen att det kan vara klokt att eradikera H. pylori hos asymtomatiska personer som konstateras vara infekterade med bakterien och som har en nära familjemedlem med magcancer i anamnesen [6,7]
